If you are on the lookout for a high-quality protection case for an iPhone 5, then the OtterBox Defender Series Case is what you need. It fits the iPhone 5 superbly, if protection is the utmost priority, then you can be rest assured that you have a superior product. You will make some sacrifices when opting for this case because of its bulkiness but that’s what you get when you want ultimate protection.

Installing the OtterBox defender is a walk in the park even if you have never used a case like OtterBox before. The easiest way to begin is to open the tab in the upper left-hand corner near the volume control, then remove the silicone cover from the case using your fingertips. It is easy from there on.
All I can say is it is rock solid. Over the weekend I put it through a field test, the case perform excellently. I was not worried at all about it and the minor bumps and jostling while walking around was no match at all for the case. I even dropped it and my phone survived the impact on the sidewalk. That is why I decided to write an OtterBox Defender Series Case for iPhone 5 Review.
If you do not like what you see in the pictures of the case, seeing it in person will not change your mind. From a standpoint on usability, if you’re wearing skinny jeans, your front pocket will be out of question. The back pockets are best and work astonishingly well, retrieving your phone swiftly is lengthier but still possible. If a female is wearing skinny jeans, she’ll need to take a purse to carry it in.
Its screen protector is the hard-shell interior of the case and doesn’t sit flush to the screen; resulting in a lag in the UI. It is noticeable when lightly swiping the screen, because sometimes it won’t register the action. Additionally, one can feel the depression in the screen slightly when working on the phone.
5. Headphone jack
This is troubling, because this is how its bulk works against the case. Headphones 90 degree input jacks or straight jacks even will NOT work in this case. The bulkiness of this case means 3.5mm jacks which aren’t straight won’t fit snugly in the port. This applies also to the use of auxiliary cables which connect to a car’s sound system.
6. Bottom Line
The case gets the 4 stars from me due to the fact that the sheer volume of abuse it withstands is amazing. The tradeoffs it has to aesthetics and usability are understandable and noteworthy however. And should you want the ultimate in protection for your iPhone then it should be the only case you go for.
If you have read this so far and have decided you like what you have seen then the OtterBox Defender Series Case for iPhone 5 Review did its job well.
